What Parole Decoder does
Parole Decoder is an independent educational app and website that helps families read public Texas corrections records. It is not affiliated with TDCJ or the Texas Board of Pardons and Paroles.
Information we do not collect
We do not require an account. We do not operate advertising trackers, sell personal information, build user profiles, or collect analytics in the current version of the app.
Searches and public records
When you search by a name or TDCJ number, the query is sent directly from your device or browser to the State of Texas open-data service. Search results are public government records. Parole Decoder does not receive or store your search on its own server. The State of Texas may process requests under its own privacy and logging practices.
Information stored on your device
The app stores saved TDCJ numbers, onboarding status, language preferences, and a cached public-dataset identifier locally on your device. This information is used only to provide app features. Removing the app removes this locally stored information, subject to normal device backups.
Purchases
In-app purchases are processed by Apple. Parole Decoder receives only the purchase entitlement needed to unlock paid content; it does not receive your payment-card details. Apple handles purchase information under Apple’s privacy policy.
External links
The app and website link to official Texas government pages, TIFA, the 988 Lifeline, and other resources. Those services have their own privacy practices.
Children
Parole Decoder is intended for a general audience and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes and contact
We may update this policy when the product or its data practices change. The effective date above will be updated. Questions or privacy requests can be sent to gwsiny@gmail.com.
